The Department of Early Childhood is nearing completion of planning for its Phase II of family support strategies. DEC expects to release solicitation(s) of proposals to ensure increased access to family support activities for pregnant families and families with children birth to 5. The potential impact of this project on the community is significant, as it will create intentional and institutionalized inter-agency relationships between DEC funded family resource centers and providers in other sectors within the early childhood system of care, such as pediatric and early childhood education settings. This will also involve establishing new and/or expanded connection points and providing family support activities at additional locations in the city. Details of the solicitation remain to be finalized, including the number and size of grants.
